Meet The Airstream Team
Alex Vandeleur
Managing Director
Alex joined Airstream in 2004 and became Managing Director of Airstream in June 2016. Prior to this he worked for aircraft remarketing specialist Cabot Aviation where he was active in remarketing a number of wide, narrow bodied and turboprop aircraft. Previously he worked for aircraft remarketing company Fortis Aviation which he joined in 1990. His time at Fortis included a three-year spell at their US office where he was responsible for winning and project managing a 50 aircraft remarketing project with TWA.
Alex has been the driving force behind Airstream’s development as the leading remarketing specialist particularly in the regional aircraft sphere. He now manages and works personally on Airstream’s sales mandates and has successfully concluded a number of sales campaigns in recent years.
Alex holds a Law Degree from Durham University and was a commissioned Army officer prior to joining the aviation industry.
Nick Holmes
Sales & Marketing Manager
Nick joined Airstream in 2020. He has built up experience in aviation customer facing and business development roles with Gama Aviation and most recently TAG Aviation, where he worked on bid submissions for new business such as helicopter transport for oil and gas contracts as well as and adding to the aircraft management fleet.
Nick now manages and leads a number of the Company’s aircraft remarketing and leasing projects, specialising in the ATR aircraft types having successfully arranged transactions in several countries. Nick was responsible for successfully winning, managing and remarketing the Hawaiian Airlines’ Ohana fleet consisting of seven ATR aircraft. He has also been heavily involved in projects with Bombardier, De Havilland, Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and Dornier aircraft types.
Nick holds a First Class Aviation Technology Degree from University of Leeds during which time he was also a member of Yorkshire Universities Air Squadron where he gained around 20 flying hours in a variety of aircraft including a Piper PA-28, Robin R2000, Grob Tutor and a de Havilland Chipmunk. He hopes to continue working towards his Private Pilot’s license.
Alex Plehn
Business Development Manager
Alex joined Airstream in 2021. Prior to this he built up experience internationally in marketing, management and data analytics roles within the aviation and logistics sector with GECAS (currently part of AerCap) and most recently with DHL. He has previously worked in Singapore, Peru, Spain and the UK.
He currently leads many of the Company’s aircraft remarketing and leasing projects, including recently placing four Dash-8-Q400’s to SkyAlps on behalf of an NAC fund in liquidation. He also helps to source aircraft financing on behalf of an international client base.
Alex holds a Degree in History and Spanish from University of Exeter and has reached 22 flying hours, working towards his Private Pilot’s license. He is an avid Arsenal FC supporter.
Peter Crutchfield
Chairman
Peter co-founded Airstream in 1989. Since then he has established the company as a market leader in aircraft remarketing and leasing.
Peter’s working career started at British Aerospace where he worked in various commercial roles as part of a graduate training programme. He subsequently joined British Airways where his responsibilities included marketing surplus aircraft and short term leasing. Peter left British Airways to join the Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank as Manager Aircraft Finance, responsible for developing the Bank’s aviation financing activities in commercial aircraft.
Peter holds an Economics Degree and International Marketing Diploma as well as a Private Pilot’s license.
Kerry Critchley
Office Manager/Marketing Assistant
Kerry joined Airstream in 2015, having previously worked at an executive support level for tech start-up VMware in the UK, during it’s rapid growth into becoming a market leader. Prior to this, she garnered valuable experience within the aviation sector, working in support roles for FR Aviation, a subsidiary of Cobham plc, as well as Airtours International.
Within the Airstream office, Kerry holds a comprehensive responsibility, overseeing all administrative, bookkeeping and marketing operations for the team.
Outside of Airstream Kerry enjoys keeping fit; taking part in her local Parkrun, as well as martial arts (she holds a purple belt in karate).
